I launched the annual Kellie Miller Art Award at Varndean College, Brighton, this year, at their Summer Art Exhibition.  I was very excited and pleased to select A level student, Jack Shearing, as my first prize winner.

Varndean's exhibition is showcasing work by two hundred and fifty talented students from across their art and design departments and Jack was one of six students short-listed for the award.

I believe it is important to encourage creativity whenever I can and it is an absolute privilege to be able to give promising, young artists an opportunity to expose their art to the public, while seeing their work in a high street gallery setting.  So, in addition to the cash prize and with this in mind, I have invited Jack to exhibit his painting, entitled 'Urban Landscape', at the Kellie Miller Arts Gallery.  His piece can be seen at the gallery from 20th- 27th June.
